From The Apicolordotic View Minimal Fibro-linear Densities In The Right Apex Is Confirmed
i'm a female 43 yrs old, 48 kg. i Had my cough in more than 3 weeks then the findings of my x-ray result apicolordotic view confirms of minimal fibro-linear densities in the right apex. EMPRSSION: MINIMAL ptb undetermined, right apex and my sputom is negative.I'm worried about this.what does these means all about? shall i have a medication for 6 months even my sputom is negative?
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. In my opinion you should consult pulmonologist and get done 1. CT thorax with contrast. 2. Bronchoscopy and BAL (bronchoalveolar lavage) analysis to rule out tuberculosis. Your x ray is suggestive of old healed lesion. And sputum is also negative. So we need to recheck whether active infection is there or not. CT thorax is more informative then chest x ray for lung lesions. Bronchoscopy and BAL analysis is far superior then sputum examination for the diagnosis of tuberculosis. If both these investigations are normal, then no need to worry much for active tuberculosis and hence no treatment is required. So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
