Ganglion Cyst On Ankle Hardening And Black, Swelling In Foot, Painful Leg Due To Cutting Saw Falling On Leg. Concerning?
My husband was working on his car using a type of cutting saw. And droped it and it took the skin of his right leg. But the one i'm worried about is his left inner foot on his ankle he has always as long as I have known him has had a large ganglion cyst. when the saw fell it hit that ankle and the cyst got hard and is now black and his foot is swelling and he is having pain
Hello! The ganglion has a clear colourless fluid/ jelly like substance inside it; on getting injured there must have been bleeding inside turning it into a black cyst; further it might have got infected due to breach of intact skin during the injury which is causing pain. A ganglion is effectively treated by a minor surgical procedure - passing SETONs with a thick needle - extracting the jelly-like substance with a to-and-fro motion, leaving behind the thick sutures/ threads which act like a wick to drain the ganglion thus preventing recurrence; an antiseptic dressing should be done during the period to prevent infection.
