Generalized Itching, Had Unprotected Sex, Flaky Foreskin And Penis Head. Could It Be Herpes?

I have an itch over my whole body but no rash at all. I have recently had unprotected sex. When I peel back my foreskin I have a flaky foreskin and penis head. I have never had a herpes outbreak but i just want to see whether these symptoms are more like male thrush or herpes. I have had spots on and off both buttocks for several years, I think as they are on both buttocks it is to do with sweating as the spots never hurt or leave painful sores but again, I have seen that spots on buttocks could be herpes under some circumstances so i just want to check really as I keep getting anxious that it could be herpes and then more relaxed thinking that it is more likely male thrush. Thanks for your help.

Hi there. I think your problem is more venreophobia than any STD per se. Having said that, one sure way to get a closure on this issue is to do a serum IgG & igM testing for herpes 1& 2. This will allay all fears. As for the rash under the foreskin, i tend to agree with you ..it is probably a fungal/candidal balanitis or balanoposthitis. Might i suggest taking one single oral tablet of fluconazole 200mg & one may repeat the same after a week in your case. This should rid you of the problem. I dont envisage a problem with the buttocks region & it is probably a follicular hyperatoses associated with some sort of a dry skin issue to put it plainly. Relax. But please do practice safe sex should it be an isssue. For the genralised itch, please take a tablet of fexofenadine 180 mgonce a day that is non-sedative. This may be taken for 20 days & if no respite, please go across to meet your nearest friendly neighbourhood dermatologist. Cheers & wish you good health!
