Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic
There are medications that cause weight gain or prevent
weight loss. These medications do this by varied means including slowing
metabolism, increasing appetite, preventing the breakdown of fat, altering hormones in the body that affect energy and appetite.
Though some medications for
high blood pressure can affect weight ( the medications called beta blockers),
ramipril is not one of these medications. In fact some studies suggest that this group of medications may help with weight loss.
At present you are doing very well with 9000 to 10000 steps per day, exercise is very important in heart health and in preventing weight regain but the most important part of weight loss is dietary changes.
You have started the dietary changes that should be necessary for weight loss. IF you find that the low fat low calorie diet is not effective for you , you can try the low
carbohydrate diet.
Carbohydrates cause the body to release
insulin and insulin ( in addition to lowering blood sugar), also prevents fat from breaking down.
If your diet is still high in carbs then insulin may be inhibiting fat breakdown.
You cannot do low fat low calorie diet and low carb at the same time so if you decide to change , it would be best to do some research on the low carb.
If you find you are still having issues then you may want to visit your doctor for an evaluation . In some persons problems like low
thyroid hormone levels may prevent weight loss.
I hope this helps
