Had DVT In Calf After Csection Delivery. Pain In Upper Thigh. D-Dimer Test Negative. Could I Still Have A Clot?
I had a DVT in my calf 8 days after the birth of my son via csection and after treatment was over (Lovenox and Coumadin for 4 months) they ran my blood and found out I have Factor V. I have had continuous pain in my upper thigh for over 3 weeks now and 2 weeks ago I had it check out. They did a D-Dimer test and it was negative so they insisted I didn't need an ultrasound. He gave me Vicodin for pain and said it probably is a pulled muscle. I'm still having pain and am so scared it's a clot. Can a d-dimer test be negative but a clot still be present?
Vascular arterial doppler test is needed to rule out the presence of clots, but younare taking the recommended therapy, clots will slowly lysed, but it is not a quick process, it is very slow process and might require lot of time
Thanks
