Had An Urgent Care For Cough , Fever. On Amoxicillin, Ibuprofen. Is Profusely Sweating. Taking Light Fluids. Suggestions?
My 32 yr old son just went to urgent care today for cough, fever. He is on Amoxicillin now but took Ibuprofen at 6pm, he told me "2 tabs"- probably 400mg. Fever tonight at 7pm is 103.5 and I told him to take Tylenol 500mg now at 8pm.. He says he is "profusely sweating" (all day) not just after the Ibuprofen; nausea and taking some fluids, anything else he should be doing? IF the fever does not come down, do I tell him to go to ER?? He is a healthy guy, weighs around 160lbs and has NEVER been this ill - any suggestions?? THANKS!!

ideally amoxicillin should take care of your child for cough.
but make sure you complete the course.
Also try giving paracetamol instead of ibuprofen.
