Had Clavicle Fracture 17 Days Ago. What Cause Of Swelling On Shoulder Near Neck ?
I broke my clavicle 17 days ago - hairline fracture near shoulder . I have been gaining strength and mobility every day. I am now out of my splint for 4 days. All of a sudden I have a lot of swelling on my shoulder near my neck and above the clavicle - but it is the opposite end of where the fracture is. Should I be concerned about this? What is the cause?

Few important questions like the duration of splint applied;and did you do any heavy work with the concerned hand needs to be known.The swelling near neck should be examined to find the reason why it has developed or whether it is related to the fracture of clavicle.Please get examined do not ignore.

Hi,
Did this swelling appear all of a sudden? did you have pain at that moment? If yes, there's a high probability that your fracture has displaced, as 17 days is too short to get back to normal activities after sustaining a clavicle fracture. Dont take a clavicle fracture lightly, it could cause serious problems. Let me know how you are doing.
