Had Ear Infections And Tubes When Younger. Had Accidental Hit To Ear, Equilibrium Has Been Off, Uncomfortable.
I have had ear issues a lot when I was younger. Many ear infections and tubes in twice. I am now older and had an accidental hit to my ear. My equilibrium has been off for about 24 hours now and it is very uncomfortable but not hurting me. Is this something that I should get looked at right away? Can it be worse if I wait to see a doctor? I don't have insurance and was going to wait it out to see if it'll adjust on it's own. Is that realistic? Advice please! Thank you! YYYY@YYYY

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
Your symptoms are suggestive of damage to inner ear resulting in loss of equilibrium. You need to get examined by a ENT specialist for examination of inner ear. You may need to get few test done. Any blood collection due to injury needs to be drained as it can lead to secondary infection.
Hello Yes you need to see doctor soon There can be trauma to inner ear as you have dizziness. You need to have ent examination to see for the condition of ear drum and pure toneadiometry a hearing test to see for any hearing loss, which could be at high frequencies which you are not aware of. If treatment is started intially then prognosis is good In doubt do reply
