Had Laparoscopic Umbilical Surgery. Sharp Abdominal Cramps. Is It A Part Of The Healing Process?
4 weeks ago, i had laperscopic umbilical surgery. Ther hernia was not large and aught early. A mesh patch was inserted. About 1 week ago i experienced sharp abdominal cramps for about 5-6 hours. In the morning i was fine, but since then they are reoccuring more frequently. My doctor on my 2 week visit said the staples would dissolve at the 4-6 week mark. Are the cramps part of a normal healing process. I am planning on contacting my doctor in the morning.

Had Laparoscopic Umbilical Surgery. Sharp Abdominal Cramps. Is It A Part Of The Healing Process?
hello, The sharp pain which you re experiencing may be a post surgical pain due to the normal healing process. In any abdominal surgeries to gain access to the peritoneal cavity the surgeon should cut through the abdominal muscle layers. post surgically any excess effort the the abdominal muscles will cause pain until it completely heals and regains strength.
