Had Only One Chicken Pox Vaccine Instead Of Usual Two, Co-worker Suffering With Chickenpox. Chances Of Transmission?
Hi Dr. Grief. I am an adult female who had only one chickenpox vaccine , instead of the usual two. My coworker is a carrier of the chickenpox virus, and I have already been exposed to it. Are my chances of getting chickenpox, even with the one vaccine (half of the recommended dosage) great? And if so, what should I do? Thank you in advance for your reponse.
Usually immunity acquired for chicken pox is life long..you have taken single dose..that may not be sufficient in case of large viral load exposure. You still get infection but some time may not so symptomatic...so you have chances of getting infection, better you avoid till his lesion crusted.
