Had Partial Hysterectomy, Uterus And Cervix Removed Due To Fibroid. Abdominal Are Feels Hard. Suggest?
I had a partial hysterectomy 4/30/13. Uterus and cervix removed due to a 1200 gram fibroid tumor. It is now four months and it seems like my abdominal area (navel location) is a mass (hard). I contacted my gynecologist about it several weeks ago and was told that my internal area was still healing. I am very fit yet feel like this area doesn't budge; almost like the tumor is still there. Ab crunches don't seem to have much of an affect...eat fairly healthy. Will it take more time? 5'2" 137 lbs 31" waist should be 28-29" normal. What are your thoughts?
Hello, Its been 4 months since the surgery. After any abdominal surgery the abdomen becomes flabby due to weakness in the muscles. One thing you need to rule out is a hernia. If that is ruled out, then its lore than likely that adipose tissue or fat as we call it, is the culprit here. After surgery the abdominal muscles become weak and it will take some time tone them. If its a hard mass, you may need a CT scan. But consult your doctor first.
Hi IT takes some times for any surgery to heal. Beneath the surgical incision, the area will be hard. IT will not be soft like before. If there is a swelling, beneath the scar you have to exclude Incisional hernia. You meet a general surgeon and proceed. You may need an Ultrasound abdomen for confirmation of the disease. Wish you good health Regards
