Respected Dr,
My husband aged 48 years had perineal abcess and we cleared the pus, taken antibiotics for a week it was almost more than one and half months before and he continued for sit bath for one month. But last week he started getting blood from the area and and again he started for sit bath. I wanted to know the reason for the blood, and i also want to know whether it is cured fully otherwise what should we do for that. Please let me know Doctor.

Hello
Thanks for your query.
He could have a partially healed abscess.
Also, perineal abscesses are known for forming sinuses or fistulas, that lead to persistent blood / pus discharge.
It is better to consult a surgeon and have a professional opinion.
Untreated or partially treated perineal abscesses can lead to various complications, such as sepsis.
You might require surgical treatment for the perineal abscess.
Take care.
