Had Slight Discharge And Abdominal Scanning Showed Endometrial Thickness. Normal Thyroid And Urine Test. Is This Normal?
My daughter had her periods started on 25th October and had slight discharge continuously for 10 days, heavy discharge for 5-6 days with clots and still continued bleeding for nearly 20 days. she is 14 years old. doctor advised her thyroid test, blood and urine test and also abdominal scanning. all are normal. her endometrial thickness is 12 mm. is this normal. Is there any problem.
Hello, welcome to HCM, Thanks for your query, I want to set your worry at rest ,because of the following; 1. Each individual has a different physiology and it noral readings for all body functions have a range . 2. Thus menstrual period in the same person may vary in no. of days (this explains 15-20 day long bleed by your daughter) 3. Endometrial thickness varies with stages of menstrual cycle(2mm at beginning -15 mm just before the actual period starts. 4. Your daughter is 14,her cycles will tone down with age –since all her tests are normal. 5. She might be put on oral hormone therapy(estrogen+progesterone )pills to regulate periods for a few cycles.this is only by a gynaecologists advice. Hope you see that everyting is normal and give it time.happy to help.
