Had Three Level Fusion, In Pain, Bedridden. On Oxycodone. Can I Switch To A Different Treatment?

I need help, I had a three level fusion. My body absorbed the material all the hardware is loose and I am in a tremendous amount of pain. My current medications are oxicontin 60mg three times daily oxycodone 6to 8 at 30 mg. Without these meds I am in bed and not able to function. When this all happened I was on the brink of loosing my house and unable to pay my bills. I now have 3 successful business and employ 16 people right now. I know if I quit taking these meds I will be bedridden I just don't want to take them any longer. I work 18 hours a day if I don't take my meds within on day I am down and cant function. They promised me a 70 percent improvement when I had the surgey but I got the opposite. I have tried other treatments calmare etc. and a whole gammit of medications please help

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this debilitating pain that you have. It can be such a great burden being totally dependent on drugs in order to be able to function.

From the above information, I am afraid there may not be any options left for you to lead a pain free life without necessarily being on medications. I know and understand your frustration of taking drugs daily but I also think you may not be able to go without as you get totally bedridden within a day of not taking the medications.
When your pain cannot be corrected by surgery, the next best available option is to use pain medications to enable you stay free of pain. The difficulty is always getting what works for you and I am at least happy that you found something that works just great for you.

I will advice that you stay on your medications. I f there are any side effects that you are worried about, please report them and let's address them rather than you getting off the medications. I hope this helps. I wish you well.
