Had Woken Up By Serious Pain In Middle Finger, Pain When Finger Moved. Cause?
I was woken up by a serious pain in my middle finger this morning. I think it s a vein that has been giving me sharp pains even now and then. it doesn t necessarily hurt when i move the finger, but when I do certain things it hurts very badly. It feels as if my vein rolls out of position when it happens. I m not quite sure what to make of this situation. It has never happened before.
Hello, thanks for using HCM.
Pain can be classified as mechanical or inflammatory. It is mechanical when it is induced by activity and calm by rest and it is inflammatory when it pains through out even in the night, waking you up from sleep and not calm by rest. Mechanical pain is usually due to trauma and generally pain killers and rest are enough to relieve the pain where as inflammatory pain could be caused by various inflammatory processes such as infection, or cristal arthritis, auto-imune diseases etc.
You need to see your doctor so that a detail evaluation and appropriate tests ( full blood count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, fasting blood sugar, uric acid level, x-ray etc as deem necessary by the doctor) carried out to make a right diagnosis from which the appropriate treatment will be administered.
thanks
