Hand Injury, Lump On Hand. Applied Ice. Anything Else To Do?
I accidentally hit my hand pretty hard on the door frame of a car so as you can imagine it was a decent amount of force hitting metal. About a half an inch made contact with the outer side of my hand.(opposite side of my thumb ). Instantly less then 20 seconds later there was a lump where i hit my hand the size of a green grape just sticking out. It hurt. But almost like its hurting in my wrist and under the lump i cant really feel the lump though. I have never experienced anything like it and i have no idea what to do i put ice on it but that is it. Anyway someone can let me know if i should do anything else or what it is exactly?
Hi, From history it appears that there might be having hematoma causing lump. There is also a possibility of having fracture of metacarpal due to hard hit. go for x-ray and rule out fracture. Apply ice pack 2-3 times a day. Take anti-inflammatory medicines for 2-3 days. Ok and take care.
