From the symptoms you have described it is most probably a fluid collection just below the skin and in front of the knee cap. Some times it could be a blood collection in the joint as I could a direct view of your joint clinically. It is better to visit a local orthopedic surgeon who could clinically examine you and if possible can rule out any ligament injuries in the knee joint. I strongly recommend you to visit orthopedic surgeon.
