my daughter has itp has for yearsshe has done chemo corticorsteroid has a spenectomy and found to have the spene the size of a four hundred pound women. she still suffering she also had a bone maro test and has low production of plateles wher to go next she is in 0000plates. YYYY@YYYY
hi i am sorry to hear about your daughter' ailments and speacially when she suffers even after chemotherapy, steroids and splenectomy i am unclear as to the actual levels of platelets cause in itp, a platelet level of approx 50000 is supposed to be good her platelet count may be never normal but if she is not bleeding and the count is around 50000, you dont have to worry
therapy wise two options are left to u one is a newer drug that is being used very commonly now- eltrombopag. meet your dr regarding it. it is quite effective in many resistant cases second i am sure you already know- bone marrow transplantation
