General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

If the skin is red and thin in the hernia area, usually this indicate an inflammation. Such inflammation usually appears due to fat stuck in the hernia (intestine stuck would cause bowels obstruction). Discharge from the hernia is not a good sign. You need to imagine that your abdominal cavity organs are right under this thin skin. So it can get infected much easier that way.

I suggest you to do not wait with this hernia anymore. Please visit general surgeon and have it fixed with small surgery.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
