After reading your history i suspect that you are having a broken root piece or a bony spicule at the site of extraction. I would suggest you to visit the concerned Dentist and get the checkup done, take the necessary x-rays, any left out root stumps can be removed by simple extraction or even surgical process, if presence of any bony spicule can be trimmed with the help of surgical procedure known as alveoloplasty.

Since you had undergone a traumatic extraction,the gums may be teared and theremay be bony projections.
The bony projections has to be filed by a dentist.
For faster healing of extraction socket,rinse mouth after every meals.
Maintain good oral hygiene.
Gargle frequently using betadine or warm saline.
Chlorhexidine mouthrinses can be used to prevent microbial plaque accumulation.
Take complete course of antibiotics too.

The white part you had seen could be a part of the bone probably. Your dentist would definetly have removed it up. Any ways you could wait for the healing of the socket and to make sure if there is any remaining portion of the tooth you can get an IOPA xray done to rule it out.

After going through the case history you have given it might be either the root piece ie.,part of

teeth left out inside or may be a bony spicule ie.,sharp edge of bone popping out.

In either case its better you visit the dentist once.

If its a root stump better get it removed ,and if its a bony spicule it will be smoothened or the

sharp edge will be removed.

Providing this type of treatment is usually quite easy for your dentist. After all, they'll be able to visualize the situation better than you and, of course, they have more experience and the proper tools.
In some instances, they may feel that they must "numb you up" before they can remove the protruding fragment. And, in more involved cases, the removal process might include some type of minor surgical procedure (such as incising the gum tissue and reflecting it back so the fragment can be visualized and accessed more easily).

According to your history i can suspect some remnant of the tooth , a root portion or a tooth piece is left unextracted .

It can be a sharp bony spicule or sharp alveolar bone left un filed after extraction.

exact diagnosis can be made only after clinical examination and evaluation by taking radiographs.

i would suggest you to get and OPG radiograph done which will help in diagnosis and accordingly treatment can be planned .

consult an oral surgeon and get the examination done.
