Have A Lump And Swelling On The Side Of The Neck. CT Scan Suggesting A Tumor. Can Tumor Develop All Of A Sudden?
My Fiance woke up a few days ago with a lump and swelling on the left side of his neck. We went to the Va Hospital and they gave him antibiotics and scheduled him for a CT Scan today. The CT Scan shows a solid lump, the Dr. said it could be a tumor . They are sending him to an ear/nose/throat specialist. Can a tumor show up overnight?

The lump or tomour as mentioned by your doctor may have been gradually developing which you may have not noticed. The sudden increase in size may be because of some infection or even bleeding in the lump which has drawn your attention to it. It`s better to follow your doctor`s advice. A FNAC or a excision biopsy will help to arrive at a diagnosis. Let your doctor decide which procedure should be undertaken.
