Have A Painful Papule On My Right. Had Chicken Pox As Kid. Have Severe Stabbing Pain, No Fever, No Medications. Shingles?
I am 21 years old,female.
About a week ago I noticed a painful papule (raised small pinkish area) on my right should with a blaPlease suggest me a diagnosis. Can it be shingles? I had had chicken pox when i were a kid. I'm worried.ck scab, it almost seemed like a pin prick.
Now today, I am having severe stabbing or you can say throbbing pain,continuous in nature, in this papule and some area around it. I have no fever, i m on no medications, i do wear safety pins to attach my scarf so i m guessing it could be a pin prick (not that i am aware of). Its not an insect bite.
I searched and thought may be its Shingles ( i'm afraid) but i have no rash and its just one papule not many.

just a single papule cannot be shingles.
although the pain described by you is typical.
in some cases of shingles there can be only pain without any lesion.
this has to be kept in mind.
just wait to see if pain decreases.
