Have Blue Colored Node Or Under Skin Bump. What Is It?
I have a blue coloured node or under skin bump on the left palm just near the life line. It has appeared and disappeared many a times(appearing after a gap of few months and disappearing on being pressed). But this time it has not disappeared even after a lot of pressing and it is almost a week now. This is the first time it pains on being touched. What can this be?
Hello. Thanks for using HCM.
From your symptoms, this points more towards what is called a Ganglioncyst. These are small sac like structures filled with clear gel like content, which evolve in this area of the palm due to tendon or joint irritation due to any mechanical trauma, for example overuse of the joints. These cysts tend to appear and disappear on its own. However once they are persistent, they can be troublesome in doing daily activities, therefore its advisable to get them removed. Its a simple day care surgery and simple procedure. You should consult with your surgeon regarding this and have him take a look at it.
