Have Chronic Acne Problem. Using Adapelene Microsphere, Clindamycin Phosphate. Skin Peeling And Breaking Out. Medication?

Hi ,i have been using adapelene microsphere and clindamycin phosphate which came in a tube together with acne soap. After using for 10 days,im having alot of peeling of and breakout. my acne is chronic and skin is very oily...what shoul i do...should i take some oral medication and wil it be any problem as im taking medication for backbone nerve injury?

hi. Acne breakout happens at the start of therapy with adapalene in some patients. It happens during the first 2-4 weeks. Its because of previously hidden comedones that are now surfacing. Normally on continued use you would notice improvement in another 2-4 weeks. I would rather put you on oral antibiotics for the flare that you are experiencing right now. I would have given you Azithromycin 500mg for three consequtive days/week for 2-4 weeks till the flare settles down.

If you are having excessive peeling, use adapalene on every alternate night rather than using it daily.
Use a mild cleanser like cetaphil rather than using a soap
