Have Delayed Periods. On Orgamed Tabs. Will This Affect The Foetus?

Hello, I have delayed periods (although, since I have pcos, delayed period is not unusual for me). My doctor has given me orgamed tabs. Since I do not yet know whether I'm pregnant or not, I asked my doctor whether orgamed can harm the foetus (if there is one). He said no, and infact also said that since orgamed has progesterone, it will potentially protect the foetus if there is one. Otherwise, I will get my period after the orgamed course is over. Is this correct? Suggestions?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
If you are trying to conceive and have delayed period there is always possibility of pregnancy.
The medicine in question is orgamed(medroxyprogesterone) in fact is progesterone and helps in implantation and maintenance of pregnancy so do not worry at all and continue to take your treatment. This hormone will not cause any damage if there is pregnancy if period is delayed just check urine for pregnancy.
If there is no pregnancy then once progesterone is stopped you will get withdrawal bleeding.
This is absolutely correct and have faith in your treating doctor.
Take care.
Good Luck
