Hi my ultrasound revealed the following results, can you help explain them? The anteverted uterus measures 9.8 X 3.6 X5.6 cm. Nathothian cyst is shown. The myometrium is heterogeneous without measurable mass. The endometrium measures 5 mm. No free fluid is shown. The right and left ovaries measure 3.3 X 2.3 X 2.3 cm and 3.1 X 2.6 X 2.9 cm. There are follicles and vascular flow bilterally. No adnexal mass or free fluid is shown.
Heterogeneous myometrium without measurable mass. ( Impression)
The uterus appears to be mildly enlarged. Heterogenous appearance of myometrium maybe a sign of adenomyosis. However, in this condition the patient usually has a classic symptom of severe pain during menses. Also, there is usually junctional zone thickening and cysts within the myometrium which have not been mentioned in your report. Thus, if you do not have any major symptoms, the heterogenous myometrium need not be a major cause of worry.
Rest of the scan report appears to be normal.
Sincerely,
Vamshi
