Have Endometriosis, Taking Alesse For Controlling Pain. Bright Red Spotting, Passed Large Clot, Not Decreasing. Why?
I have been dx'd with endometriosis. I am 43 yrs of age. My Dr and I have currently come up with a plan to control my pain. the plan is to take alesse 21 for 9 weeks straight then have a cycle. I have taken one month of alesse and have had a cycle. I then started again and am currently on week 6. for the past seven days I have had some what of a period. bright red spotting enough to wear a pad all day but not a tampon. it does not seem to be decreasing ie: going from red to chocolate brown like a normal period. on day four later in the day I passed a large clot. just when I think it is lightening up I go to the washroom and still bright red. I am a little concerned. any suggestions
The presentation you are experiencing is purely due to endometriosis. Just treating the pain will not suffice. You will have to treat the condition and not just the symptoms. Please speak to your doctor about the available treatment options for treatment of endometriosis.
Best wishes.
