Hi, Welcome to HCM, You are having Submucous fibrosis, I am glad that you have decided to quit chewing Gutkha. Apart from Gutkha, other causes are Excessive consumption of red chiles, Immunological diseases, Extreme climatic conditions Prolonged deficiency to iron and vitamins in the diet. Please visit a Dental surgeon and get examined and if necessary 3rd molar can be extracted. Maintain good oral hygiene, supplements of vitamins and antioxidants. avoiding tea and coffee, local application of anti inflammatory steroids or injection and in very severe cases surgery is required ( Z Plasty) Hope this information helps you. Take care. Good Luck. Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D.
