Have Had Diarrhea, Elevated Liver Enzymes, WBC, Sore Throat. Tested Positive For Mono. Suggest?

Tested postive for Mono but have had diarrhea for going on 5 weeks; at leasts twice per day and sometimes 10 times per day. Had bloodwork done, shows elevated liver enzymes and WBC but everything elso okay. Is this normal due to Mono? I only had a sore throat for two days. Other symptoms, sometimes nauseous, very tired and lightheaded.

Hello, thanks for contacting HCM with your question.
The simple answer to your question is , your liver enzyme
elevations are due to Mono infection. This might stay abnormal
for about 4 weeks and should come back to normal. Initially you
might have started with virus symptoms such as aches, pains,
fatigue, low grade fever and diarrhea. I am not sure if the doctors
put you on any antibiotics. Some of them , especially Ampicillin family
can give diarrhea. Stay on a good diet , take vitamin supplements
like Super B-Complex once a day, Vitamin-C 1000 mg. daily.
Check liver tests every 2 weeks.
You will be O.K. in a few days.
