Have High Levels Of HCG After 2 Weeks Of Abortion. What Could Be The Reason?
Hi. I am 29 with 4 kids. I had my first miscarriage 3 weeks ago which followed a d&c 2 weeks ago. I was about 9 weeks pregnant. I only bled the day of the surgery with minor cramps. The following day I was fine no bleeding nor cramps. So by the next day my fiancé and I had unprotected sex and has done so since. Its been 2 weeks now. I had my follow up yesterday and my OB said im still testing positive. She said it might be a new pregnancy. She's having my hcg levels tested over a few days. Can I be pregnant again or is it left over hormones from my miscarriage?

Most likely reason for high hcg levels during this period is due to the previous pregnancy which hasnt yet come to normal levels which takes 3 to 4 weeks to come to normal levels....to be sure get the hcg level repeated after one week. ..if they are declining you are sure that its not a new pregnancy
