Have Hypothyroid. Have Dry, Very Sore Throat. Suggestions

My daughter is 47 years old and has been healthy aside from being hypothyroid, on Synthroid. She is not overweight, if anything a bit underweight. She has had a dry, very sore throat for three weeks. Had blood taken on Saturday and the results have yet to come back. Unfortunately, she just started a new job 9-5 and cannot take anytime off. She has no temp or any other symptoms. No swollen glands or fatigue. Your suggestion?
I will give you her email and let her know to go online. Thank you.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi and thanks for the query.
Looks like your daughter has upper respiratory tract infection.
She will require a course of an appropriate antibiotic, and anti inflammatory.
For proper evaluation she needs to see a doctor.
Till then let her follow some simple general measures
1) Warm salt water gargles. 4 times per day.
2) Voice rest.
3) Lots of water - 4 litres per day. she can have all fruit juices, milk shakes, soups, tender coconut water, ect any fluid as long as it is not from the refrigerator.
4) Avoid airconditioning, fan. If cannot avoid in office then she should atleast sit away from the vents and consume even more water.
5) Vitamin c rich foods like oranges, lemons, and mosambis.
Take care,
Dr Rajkishori.
