Have Itchy Bumps On Buttock Spreading To Legs, Stomach And Chest. Temporary Relief With Anti Itching Lotion

Hello, a few weeks ago I got a itchy bump on my buttock. I thought it was just a bug bite because it itched so badly. The next day I woke up and there were at least 20 new bumps. I had no idea what to do so I tried not to itch. Since then I have bumps mostly on my inner thighs and they have started to slowly spread down my legs, on my stomach and near my chest. I have woken up with bruises (I assume from the intense itching). I went to the doctor about two weeks ago and she had no idea what was going on. She prescribed me some ant itch lotion and took some blood to test. She called about a week ago and told me that there was nothing wrong with my blood. I have been putting this lotion on every morning and every night. They help for about an hour and then it's back to the itching. My doctor said that there were some other things she could try and that she would call me back but never did.
I have been searching the internet for some answers and some people have been saying that gluten allergies cause this. I don't know if that is it but allergies do run in my family. Also she told me it wasn't scabbies.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi. Thanks for posting at HCM

It actually seems more like scabies.

If i were your treating doctor i would have want you to apply 5% permethrin lotion after a scrub bath all over your body sparing face. Keep it overnight and then bath next day.

Wash or dryclean all your clothes and bed sheets, towels etc

Its advisable to treat all the other family members as well empirically.

An oral anti-histamine once daily in the evening would help relieve the itching

take care
