Have Migraine And Seizure Disorder. Taking Sumatriptan And Fiorcet. Permanent Relief?

Yes, I have had an ongoing migraine/cluster headache for the last week and a half and it is affecting my ability to do anything. I have a seizure disorder for which I take three medications, but they don't seem to be making an impact on my headache. I've been given Sumatriptan and Fiorcet but there effects are only temporary. They help me sleep which is wonderful. I am hoping for a permanent relief so I can function like a regular adult. Thank you in advance.

Hello,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.

Sorry, Currently there is no permanent cure for migraine.
But there are plenty of treatments from medication to surgery to relieve the symptoms.

Drugs you are taking now are sufficient to control the symptoms.
Surgery ie.. Arterial surgery can be done, if you are intolerable to all medicines or not responding to medicines.

For seizure disorder, three drugs are not not necessary. Try to have one or two drugs.

You can prevent migraine by
1. find the trigger for your attack and control it
2. identify the earlier sign of migraine like tiredness, hyperactivity etc.. and take prophylaxis.
3. Beta blockers and Antidepressants can be used for prophylaxis.
4. Meditation and yoga are helpful in decreasing the frequency of symptoms.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
