Have Pain In The Hip, Thigh, Heel. Worse In Night. No Relief With Medicines. Have Gastric Problem. Cure For Treatments?

Hi Dr. Praveen Tayal,
I am having pain in left hip (outer part) and back side of left thigh, in left heel. I can't lay down on the left side. Pain gets worse in the night. There is no relief after applying any pain relaxing ointment like Volini Gel or Spry and after taking any pain killer. When I press my left heel, some gas comes out from my stomach. and also when I apply any ointment on hip area or heel, I feel some sensation in my lower part of stomach. I have gastric problem. The pain gets worst 2 or 3 days prior to Mensuration. I feel the pain much during siting or laying. it gets OK while moving. Please suggest me.

Hi,
This is Dr Anjana Rao answering your question.

There appears to be two problems with you.
1. Pain in left hip, back of thigh upto heel (more at night) and probably same pain increases during menstruation.
2. Gastric problem.

The pain in your hip, thigh and heel could be sciatica with the presence of calcaneal spur. Since you are mobile all day, you appreciate the pain only late at night. Please elevate your limbs a little at night and avoid wearing high heeled footwear. You could switch over to wearing doctor sole shoes.

The gastric pain can be controlled by taking a proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole or pantoprazole. This medicine to be taken on empty stomach as you wake up early morning.

Hope this helps.
