Have Pain On My Left Side. Have A Lot Of Gas, Cannot Eat Spicy, Dairy, Seeds. Suggested Diverticulitis. Which Food To Avoid?
I have had a nagging pain on my left side below the rib cage and left of the belly button. I also have a lot of gas and I cannot eat spicy, dairy, seeds, peanuts. The dr. says it might be diverticulitis. What kidsn of food can I eat? I pretty know what kind of foods cause symptoms. I had a colonospy and endoscopy and everthing is ok.
Hi, many thanks for the query! Your picture suggests either Lactose intolerance or IBS. Get investigated for Lactose intolerance. Get an USG (Abdo-Pelvis) done to know any abdominal/pelvic pathology. If your endoscopy & colonoscopy are normal and you don't have blood in stools, it is less likely to be a diverticulitis. Avoid food causing symptoms particularly milk & milk-products. Wish you a good health. Take care. Regards.

Hi Thanks for using HCM.
Since your colonoscopy and endoscopy are normal, you dont have diverticulitis. But history of unable to eat dairy products, peanuts suggest chance of allergy to these. Since you dont have any chronic symptom the chances are also less. Get allergen test, skin prick test for these once. If allergic then need to stop the purticular group of food. Exclude the chance of gastric acidity problem by taking Tab Pantoprazole 40 mg daily 30 min before dinner for a week with plenty of water and regular diet and exercise and also Cap containing lacto bacilli for 15 days.Hope this will help.
Hope I answered your question and clarified all your query. Wish you good health.
Take care.
Regards
Dr.Lohit
