Have Painful Lump At Tailbone, Solid, Previously Broken Tail Bone
I have a painful lump at the base of my tailbone. I know it is not an infected sweat gland or anything of the sort as i have had those before. This lump is not red and does not show any signs of infection. It seems soild and part of my tailbone and is under the skin. I did break my talbone (i suspect) 16 years ago but i'm not sure there's any relevance.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The painful lump at the tailbone could be due to an inflammation of the scarococcygeal joint or a dislocation of the coccyx. An MRI scan of the area will help in proper diagnosis. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
