hello doctor, I m so glad I found this site, I am a 26 year old female and exactly a month ago I was in the hospital for four days with Rhabdomylosis and I have been fine for the past few weeks but yesterday and all day today since I woke up yesterday morning I have had a fever between 101.0 and 102.0 and my head at the very top and eyes have been hurting along with my sides and I got my blood pressure and heart rate tested and it was 128 over 70 and my heartrate was 131! I have been taking Dayquil, Tylenol , and I am prescribed synthroid .075. I have also tried sinus medicine eyedrops and nothing is kicking the fever totally I just get the sweats a little bit later but I m not coughing and don t have a runny nose or anything and I don t feel like I have a cold or the flu at all can you please tell me what this means?? Thanks, Jessica My email is YYYY@YYYY please get back to me quick as you can I really don t want to go back to the hospital but if I have to I will.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is possible that the symptoms are related to an acute viral or bacterial illness. The fever would cause an increase in your pulse rate.

In some people, fever may be an initial symptom and any other symptoms would develop subsequent to this. This may be the reason you are noticing any additional symptom, as yet, that can pinpoint the cause of the elevated temperature.

It would be important to use the tylenol. In addition, wearing cool or limited clothing, tepid sponging, fan therapy, and ingesting cold/cool liquids may also help reduce the temperature.

It would be difficult at this point to figure out the cause of the fever without any additional symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
