Have Stitches On Thumb. Area Is White After Shower. Any Need To Worry?
I had stitches in my thumb due to a bad cut on Saturday. Today is Tuesday. The doc told me to remove the gauze after 48 hours, wash it and apply a band aid. She said at this point it was ok to get wet. After my shower this morning, I removed the band aid to put a fresh one on. I noticed the the area right around the stiches was white. I didn't look like that when I looked at it last night. Is this somthing to be concerned with? I am putting neosporin on the wound.
Hi, Welcome to HCM, Nothing to worry, due to band aid strictly adhere to thumb might cause white skin when removed. Gradually skin will become normal. If possible avoid putting band aid and apply neosporin on the area. If require apply bandage instead of band aid. within short time wound will be alright. Ok and bye.
