Have Swollen Calf And Blood Clots. Had A Knee Surgery Earlier. Taking Medication. What To Do?

Feb 13, 2013 I had surger on my right knee. An arthroscopy, knee surgical; with meniscectomy and meniscal shaving. March 6, 2013 I complained on pain given an ultrasound found clots. Now taking warfarin. My inner top calf is very swallon. They tried to do another ultrasound could not due to the swelling of entire leg. Should I still be taking warm water PT? What should I do. Could I have more blood clots. I am in pain. I have sever RA and fibromyalgia taking Gabapentin 300MG three times a day. What should I do?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, it is possible to have more blood clots- request for a colour doppler study. Continue with warfarin, keep legs elevated, take anti-inflammatory and enzymes to mobilize oedema, do gentle ankle movements continuously for at-least 10 minutes every waking hour. Consult your doctor if you feel numbness/ warmth or notice blisters on the leg.
