Have Swollen Vein In Hand. Got Blue Lump That Hurts. What Could Be The Cause?
I have a vein that is swollen in the palm of my right hand. I had it for a few days now. It first felt like I pulled a muscle in my hand. Then all of a sudden the vein rises high in my palm about an inch long. It was painful. It went down but now a small blue lump that hurts when I move my hand or touch it.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The blue tender vein in the palm of your hand is likely to be due to a venous inflammation. It is suggestive of thrombophlebitis. Rest, hot fomentation and local anticoagulant gel will help in decreasing the swelling. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
