Having TB. Prescribed Forecox. Taking Once A Day. Can I Take Twice A Day? Side Effects?
I am having Tb last month and doctor perscribed Forecox twice a day, but my mistake I have been taking just ones form last month.
During my monthly check up, my doctor came to know about it. Now he has told me to twice a day. What will be the side effects of this mistake? Can I take this medicine twice a day, in a way one before breakfast and another 2-3 hours after lunch??
Will it have any side effects?
Please help... its difficult to have both medicines together before breakfast.
Hi, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic, After going through your history, antitubercular drugs are given according to weight of the patients, hence you may be taking lower dose for the last 1 month. If lower dose is taken there is little chance of resistance to drugs is there. It is always better to take anti TB drug empty stomach, so discuss with your doctor to take once a day empty stomach if tolerated by you. If not the other tablet after 2 to 3 hours after breakfast. There are some medicines like Proton pump inhibitors and antiemetic to improve tolerance. Hope this helps, Take care. Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D.
