Having Chest And Back Pains, Numb Feeling In Hands, Nausea. Taking Anxiety Medication. What To Do?
i am having chest pains and back pains and my hands (right hand mostly) feel numb and tingling. I also feel nausea. i do take anxiety medication and suffer from panic attacks, however this feeling is much different. I took my medicine, utilized breathing and relaxtion techniques but it is not working. It has been ongoing for days now and the pain is getting to be unbareable. should I contact my therapist or seek medical attention?
Anxiety and panic disorders can manifest not only with psychological symptoms but with a variety of physical symptoms also like: Tingling, numbness, hot and cold sensations, palpitation, chest pain, choking sensation, tremors (shakiness) etc.
You are already receiving treatment for it. If treatment is initiated recently, then wait, as medicine take 3-4 weeks to show improvement. You can also meet your psychiatrist for re evaluation and to start some medicine with early response.
Pain complaint can occur in anxiety also, but it is better to rule out medical condition after meeting general physician.
Wish you good health and all the best.
