Having Consistent Increased Heart Beat Rate Of 109. Preciously 78. Cause?

Hi, My normal bpm is 78. I woke up a few nights ago with a consistent bpm of 109. What could have caused that change? I had a pericarditis four years ago related to a viral infection...otherwise my heart was terrific. The stress test had a tough time getting my rate up to were the assessment could be made based on my age. Thoughts? thanks. YYYY@YYYY

Probable reasons for your increased heart rate:
1. anxiety
2. Hyperthyroidism. Get the thyroid test done.

ECG and some blood tests will tell about any repeated attacks of pericarditis.
