Having Dry Cough, Clear Phlegm, Palpitations, Cold. Have Appointment With Doctor Tomorrow. Reason For Palpitations?

Hi I am a fit 48 year old woman I don't smoke but I do have a stressful job. For the past 4 weeks I have had a dry cough, a little bit of phlegm but it's clear. About a week ago I started to have palpitations and I only have them when I sit down at night but added to this I now have a cold. My neck doesn't hurt and no swollen ankles or anything else,
I do have an appointment at the doctors tomorrow but not sure whether with a cold it is still worth getting checked over, my concern are the palpitations and don't know why I have them. Have you any thoughts on this?

Thank you

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding dry cough, white phlegm and palpitations.

As you said that your job is little bit stressful , that is also a factor for palpitation but in your case upper respiratory tract infection is itself appears to be responsible.

Since you are of 48 years lady so it will become now necessary for complete cardiovascular examination for to rule out palpitation.

Regards.
