Having Irregular Periods And Heavy Bleeding. Scanning Showing Cyst In The Ovary. Took Glycomet For A Long Time. No Improvement. What To Do?
Sir, my wife is suffering from irregular periods and heavy bleeding with pieces of blood for 20 to 25days every time. after scanning it is found that she has a cyst in her right ovary - size: 5 x 3 cms. a gynochologist advised her to take glycomet 850mg every day 1 per day. 6 months gone. but no difference. can u suggest something

Many patients with PCOD also have insulin resistance and have raised level of insulin.
These patients may not respond to clomiphen, thus treated with anti diabetic drugs like metformin and troglitazone.
Clomiphen is used to stimulate ovulation. Low doses of dexamethasone can be given simultaneously, to suppress androgen production from adrenal gland.
If clomiphen doesn't work, a new anti-estrogen called Letrozole can be used.
Clomifen resistant women suffering with PCOD, may need HMG(gonadotrophis) to induce ovulation.
Difficult patients may require a combination of GnRH analog and HMG to induce ovulation successfully.
Glycomet can improve your fertility by reversing endocrine abnormality and improving your ovulatory response.
Please consult your Gynecologist again and discuss about available options.
