Having Sore Throat, Slightly Swollen Glands. Hurts To Swallow. On Antibiotics, No Improvement. Solution?

hi I have a sore throat and slightly swollen glads also it hurts when i swallow . it looks read and veiny (sp?) I went to the doctor and was on ammoxacilin for 10 days )thought maybe strep ) durring that time I developed a cough and the troat isn t any better and i have been off the anti-bactiria for 3 days now. (finished all meds) any ideas? i don t wanna waste another visit.

How much amoxyillin did you take? it should be 500 mg thrice a day. If you had taken correctly, then you may have to change the antibiotics to either ciprofloxacin or some cephalosporins.
Please do throat gargling with warm water and salt at least twice a day.
