i have a mirena coil fitted 2yrs now ans its started given me trouble. i returned twice to my gp for her to remove it and she couldn t find it. she has set up a scan for me to find it. how will it be removed?

After a scan only the position of coil can be detected. If it is in the uterus, it can be removed thru vagina using some instruments. But if by any chance, it has perforated and reached the abdomen then either you can leave it as it is as it is sterile or it can be removed surgically.
