Hello,
Thanks for posting this question in HCM
Let me tell you that headache can be due to various reasons like brain infection, tumor, migraine,
cluster headache,
tension headache, problems in the blood vessels of the brain and so on. Migraine, cluster headache, tension headache and chronic daily headache are diagnoses of exclusion. I mean these diagnostic labeling is done when secondary causes of headache are excluded.
Back to your problem, I feel that there a good possibility of migraine in your case. However, as I told it is a diagnosis of exclusion. So, I advise you to get examined by a headache specialist/local
neurologist who will evaluate you through clinical evaluation and investigations including scans. Though the twitching can be seen as a part of migraine, the possibility of coexistent epilepsy cannot be excluded definitely.
If the diagnosis turns out to be migraine,
You will benefit with the following
1. Acute attack: when the severity is more: you may take analgesics/
sumatriptan nasal spray. Learn to avoid the precipitating factor like stress, lack of sleep, coffee, perfumes, and excessive use of commuters and so on.
2. During the chronic phase: Medicines that help are valproate,
topiramate,
propranolol, amitriptiline. Your neurologist will help you select one of these appropriate medicines.
Hope this helps
