Hi munvashisht.

Thanks for your question.

The history which you provided resembles a migraine headache but would it be little more informative i can surely tell you the diagnosis.

In Migraine headache is usually unilateral, throbbing in character, severe in nature, duration is usually 3-5 hours, periodic, associated with photo phobia, phonophobia, lacrimation, nausea, aggravated by sunlight, tea, exertion, relieved by taking rest in dark room, sleep, usually associated with aura, never associated with seizure, vomiting, fever etc.So you check the other criteria and if it matches your headache then it is migraine.

But what i am concern is your sudden change in intensity of headache and in all this of sudden change we advise a neuroimaging.

So please do a CT scan of head and consult a neurologist or psychiatrist for opinion. They are seeing those cases.

Best wishes,

Dr Sourav Ganguly
