Hearing Lost. Taking Ibuprofen, Tramadol For Back Pain. No Sign Of Ear Infection. Will My Hearing Return?
I have lost my hearing (feels like blocked ears and like I'm talking under water) for 6 days. Have been taking ibuprofen and tramadol for two weeks for back pain. Both drugs were prescribed while I was in hospital for 5 days. I'm now two weeks down the track and my gearing went 6 days ago. My ears are clean and healthy with no signs of infection. Will my hearing return as I have now ceased all medications.
Hi and thanks for the query, It is important to know why you are experiencing the hearing loss. Acute hearing loss without an infection i s usually seen in diseases like Cogan s disease, and is treatable with Steroids. However, other mechanical and neurological causes could explain same symptoms. It is therefore compelling to undertake a complete and proper clinical review to identify the main cause of symptoms. n urgent evaluation by an ENT specialist is need. Kind regards
